Lionsgate Play launched Tiger TV in October with a focus on Punjabi and Hindi entertainment. Founder Rohit Jain told Moneycontrol the company plans to invest Rs 500 crore in content over three years and is targeting more than 50 premieres in the first year, with an audience extending into the diaspora.
For Punjabi producers, the significant development is another platform publicly seeking regional stories. Moneycontrol reported a standalone app for Australia, among other markets, although local pricing and the title lineup here still need confirming.
